Tomorrow is March 8, International Women's Day.

In 1910, Clara Zetkin proposed this event at an international women’s conference at Folkets Hus, headquarters of the Danish labor movement.

That building later became the historic autonomous social center Ungdomshuset—famously evicted and reduced to rubble in one of the biggest Danish police operations since the Second World War on March 1, 2007. The occupiers relentlessly pressured the government until it was forced to turn over another building for their use.

The cycles of resistance continue.

Melt the ICE: The Fight Continues

On March 1, demonstrators converged on the Federal Building outside the Twin Cities, temporarily blockading ICE inside it.

On one side of the building, fifty people established a shield wall. Sheriffs attacked immediately, but they held their ground for almost an hour.

At least 400 people marched on the other side of the federal building to demand that ICE withdraw from Minnesota and return the land that Fort Snelling occupies to the Dakota people. Many Native people participated in the march, including members of the Dakota, Ojibwe, and Chippewa tribes.

Even after the withdrawal of thousands of ICE agents from the Twin Cities, more than 400 remain—an unprecedented number before the surge of federal mercenaries into the city two months ago.

Thankfully, people are not finished fighting ICE.

The latest polls shows that less than 40% of people in the US are convinced that ICE should exist at all.

The disparity between the number of politicians calling to abolish ICE and the proportion of the population that is clamoring to abolish ICE aptly illustrates the fundamentally reactionary character of political representatives as a class.

Change is going to have to come from us, from grassroots initiatives and direct action.

Donald Trump is replacing Kristi Noem, who was head of the Department of Homeland Security until a few minutes ago.

In short, Kristi Noem has not succeeded in achieving dictatorial control of the population of the US via DHS. Trump is trying a new strategy aimed at the same goal.

This shows that the day-to-day resistance to ICE has prevented them from achieving their chief objective. They aimed to normalize the violence of federal mercenaries as an accepted part of daily life. So far, they have failed.

Thanks to the brave people of the Twin Cities and everyone all around the country who is fighting back.

This fight is far from over.

The attack on Iran is an attack on all of us.

The Israeli and US attack on Iran is morally repugnant. It is calculated only to benefit an elite of racist, Islamophobic warmongers. It will not benefit Iranians or ordinary people anywhere on earth.

We must build the grassroots capacity to interrupt the war machine. The hundreds of thousands senselessly slaughtered in Gaza, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, and Ukraine show what awaits down this road otherwise.

As capitalist profiteering hits its limits, despots have returned to amassing wealth the old-fashioned way—by brutal violence. The economy has been sustained by the AI boom—which is actually a boom in military technology. From Caracas and Minneapolis to Tehran, it's easy to see what sort of world they are trying to create.

We must understand this attack as a threat to us, as well. The same weapons Trump and Netanyahu use against Iranians today will be turned on anyone who resists their power tomorrow—unless we stand up to them together.

Fight back.

Atak Izraela i Stanów Zjednoczonych na Iran jest moralnie odrażający. Ma on na celu wyłącznie przyniesienie korzyści elicie rasistowskich, islamofobicznych podżegaczy wojennych. Nie przyniesie on korzyści Irańczykom ani zwykłym ludziom na całym świecie.

Musimy budować oddolną siłę, aby zakłócić machinę wojenną. Setki tysięcy zabitych w bezsensownej rzeźni w Gazie, Syrii, Sudanie, Jemenie, Iraku i Ukrainie pokazują, co nas czeka w innym wypadku na końcu tej drogi.

W miarę jak kapitalistyczne spekulacyje w celu osiągnięcia zysku dochodzą do swoich granic, despotyczni władcy powracają do gromadzenia bogactwa w starym stylu – poprzez brutalną przemoc. Gospodarka jest podtrzymywana przez boom na sztuczną inteligencję, który w rzeczywistości jest boomem na technologię wojskową. Od Caracas i Minneapolis po Teheran łatwo dostrzec, jaki świat próbują stworzyć.

Musimy zrozumieć, że ten atak jest również zagrożeniem dla nas. Ta sama broń, której Trump i Netanjahu używają dziś przeciwko Irańczykom, zostanie jutro skierowana przeciwko każdemu, kto sprzeciwi się ich władzy – chyba że wspólnie się im przeciwstawimy.

There are genuine grassroots movements resisting the Iranian government. They do not want Donald Trump to attack Iran. Listen to them:

Protesters in Iran are confronting an oppressive government, but a puppet regime serving the US and Israel will not help them. In attacking Iran, Trump does not necessarily seek to overthrow the government, but simply to subordinate it to his will, the way he did the government of Venezuela.

Like other autocrats around the world, Trump aims to sideline ordinary people, reducing all politics to a matter of tyrants contending for power at the expense of the human beings they rule. He will gladlly sacrifice our lives for his own benefit.

Real liberation can only come about through solidarity between grassroots movements. Resist Trump's war effort by all means.
