It's been a long time since we've had a restaurant, but we have to eat somewhere.

You can go to Anita's, it's a restaurant and beach bar overlooking the sea. There used to be a breakwater on this place, then it was repaired and turned into a path for passers-by and cyclists. It's atmospheric and the restaurant is away from the hustle and bustle. The menu features simple Mediterranean dishes, prepared with care and with local and quality products: noodles, shrimp, clams.

Last week we told you about Anita's, but here is another seaside restaurant

http://www.redfishbcn.com/ is also close to the sea, with beautiful wooden floors and a cool view, bamboo chairs and the atmosphere of a summer's day. In general, it's "a trendy beachfront restaurant decorated in the style of a fisherman's hut with a thatched deck: tapas, grilled seafood and cocktails", and there's not much more to add.

The paella is especially good here!

When exactly do I need to register as a sole trader in Spain?

Being self-employed in Spain can be challenging: quarterly tax returns, high monthly social security contributions and tons of different forms to fill out throughout the year. So it’s important to keep up to date and know when to do what.

If you plan to become autónomo or self-employed in Spain, you can’t just decide to become a freelancer and start working — you need to officially register to legalize yourself and be able to legally invoice.

Social Security defines the self-employed as: «Workers over the age of 18 who, on a regular, personal and direct basis, engage in economic activity for profit without having an employment contract.»

Registration as self-employed
To legally engage in self-employment in Spain, you must register with both the social security authorities and the Treasury Department (Hacienda).

You will then be registered for social contributions and pay monthly contributions based on your earnings. This will allow you to pay for health care, sick leave, maternity and childcare benefits.

When do I need to register?
The Department of Equality and Social Security stipulates that once you start working as a freelancer, you must register either on the day you start working or 60 days before.

If you know your business will be up and running by a certain date, registering in advance is a good option.

If you register after the start date, the registration date will be considered the first of the month and you won’t be able to take advantage of preferential rates.

If you enroll 90 days after the start date, the process will be slightly different and you will have to request a special enrollment by submitting an application.

Registering after you start working is possible, but it is done at your own risk and you can get a fine of 3,750€ to 12,000€ depending on the situation.
