South Korean city to offer NFT citizenship

It was reported some time ago that Seongnam, the 12th most populous city in South Korea, would be creating a metaverse version of itself accessible to the public. And will offer its participants NFT citizenship.

When the Internet was invented in the late 1980s, it was considered revolutionary in how we communicate and share information. Today, the Metaverse is hailed as the next big thing that will change our lives even more.

The Metaverse, a combination of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and 3D computing environments, has the potential to give us all superpowers and make the world a more inclusive place, especially for people with disabilities.

Now Brunel University has teamed up with Cambridge and Meta to explore how the Metaverse can help people with disabilities.

Polygon co-founder Sandeep Naiwal's Symbolic Capitals raises $50M to support Web3 startups

Founded back in 2017 in India, Ethereum’s tier-two decentralized platform Polygon raised a whopping $450 million in February 2022, with VCs such as Sequoia Capital India, SoftBank and Tiger Globalon spearheading the purchase of private tokens. Recently, one of the co-founders of Polygon, Sandeep Neilwal, came up with another project designed specifically for the founders of web3. A new venture fund called Symbolic Capital, launched by Sandeep Naival and Cere co-founder Kenzie Wang, aims to support companies building decentralized applications (dApps) for consumers in games and NFTs.

Symbolic Capitals recently raised $50 million in funding from other ventures, crypto exchanges and other investors who chose to remain anonymous.

The SK Telecom metaverse economy has adopted the ifland points system, thanks to which any Ifland user can earn points by logging into the system and completing missions. In addition, points have been introduced that are issued as daily rewards, bonuses for attendance and unexpected rewards. Interestingly, users can donate their points to other members who host virtual meetings on Ifland. These hosts have the right to transfer earned points to personal accounts. According to SK Telecom, three more large-scale updates are being prepared in the future to further expand the metaverse ecosystem.
