WATCH THE WEATHER this weekend if you’re going be out and about. Multiple rounds of storms are possible with heavy rains and lightning likely. Some storms could turn severe with a tornado or damaging winds. The worst of the weather for a majority of the state comes this evening into Sunday so right now is the best timeframe for “quiet” conditions.

“Blood Cypress”
Lake Martin, Louisiana

A starburst of red light breaks through a pair of small cypress trees during an overcast morning.

This is my “pivot” photo from an attempt this morning to capture the lunar eclipse aka “blood moon.” The overcast/foggy conditions decided to make their appearance just as the eclipse was set to happen. Luckily, I brought my lighting setup just in case I needed to illuminate a foreground tree. In this case, I decided to have a little fun instead and use a red light to make my own “eclipse.”
